just crossed over the border into idaho...Mark 3 (the van) is running smooth.

my second to last day working as a pizza kitchen prep cook at the kennedy school mcmenamins.

8:15 am

me: What are you doing here? It's 8:15 in the damn morning. You don't work until two.

manager: I want to make sure the new calzone recipe is done right today. (starts peeling a large squash)

if there's anywhere on the bus i want to sit,
its next to the smelly guy
shouldering a backpack as big as the world

whether it was his choice or not, he's taken up his bed.
and I'd put my head on his shoulder for that.

free coffee

me: I need to know when I'm getting free coffee, and when im not.

 coffee guy: Did you want free coffee today?

me: Well, no not necessarily,  I mean, yeah, of course i do. I'm always willing to pay though, it's just that sometimes I get free coffee and sometimes I don't, and its awkward to just stand here wondering if its my lucky day or not.

coffee guy: Well, how about I give you the secret head nod.

me: That works.
